Festivais de verão: Quanto custa mesmo ir a um festival

Summer festivals: How much does it really cost to go to one?

Festivals are the biggest temptation of summer. But tickets, transportation, food, and drinks can turn a weekend into a huge expense.

The hidden cost of entertainment

Buying a general pass for a summer festival is just the tip of the iceberg. Many people only consider the ticket price when deciding to go, forgetting that expenses on the venue are often much higher than the entrance fee. Inflated food prices, drinks throughout the day, and transportation to the site create an unexpected hole in the monthly budget.

When the final tally is done, that weekend of concerts can easily exceed the barrier of 300 or 400 euros per person.

Logistical expenses and accommodation expenses

If the festival is far from home, accommodation and transportation are the main expenses. Staying in tents at the festival campsite is economical but requires buying camping gear if you don't already have it. On the other hand, renting a house or hotel inflates the budget to levels comparable to a small vacation abroad.

In addition, tolls, fuel, or train trips should be budgeted in advance.

How to go to festivals without destroying your finances

To enjoy the poster without financial remorse, follow these tips:

  • Define a daily allowance: Carry physical cash or load a pre-paid card with the maximum amount you can spend per day.
  • Split travel expenses: Share rides with friends to save on gas and tolls.
  • Reinforced stomach before entering: Have a good meal outside the venue to avoid inflated prices inside.

Fun with planning pays off.

In short, you don't need to give up live music in the summer, but you do need to control your wallet. A well-defined budget ensures that the next day's hangover is only from tiredness, not financially.
