According to a decree-law approved by the Council of Ministers, young people up to 35 years old will now be able to apply for 100% home credit, through public guarantee, to authorized financial companies.

The new decree-law "changes the conditions of the concession of public guarantee in credit for own and permanent housing, to young people up to 35 years old, in order to also extend to financial companies authorized to grant housing credit," as stated in a statement from the Government, cited by Notícias ao Minuto.

It is worth remembering that, in order to enable young people up to the age of 35 who do not have their own capital to provide as a down payment to obtain housing credit, the public guarantee of the State now intends to cover that value, up to 15% of the capital owed, so that financing for 100% of the transaction value can be obtained.

This warranty is valid for a period of 10 years from the signing of the respective credit agreement.

Note that credit financial societies have as their object the practice of operations allowed to banks.
