Parental leave subsidy: Access will become simpler.

Now, it is easier for parents to access the initial parental allowance.

In July, one of the objectives of the Government during the Digital Transition and Modernization was "to promote the standardization, simplification, and digitalization of public services". "The goal was to reach an increasing number of citizens and companies" through a "public service divided into four axes: more articulated, more flexible, simpler, and for all people," as reported by Notícias ao Minuto at https://www.noticiasaominuto.com/economia/2614658/atencao-pais-atribuicao-do-subsidio-parental-inicial-sera-mais-simples.

Therefore, the government now shares on its Instagram account that, following this measure, it will be simpler for citizens to access the initial parental allowance, with the presentation of all suitable subsidy options for their family situation, as well as the prediction of the amounts to receive.

In this way, citizens will be able to stay better informed, proactively and simply, about their options for enjoying the subsidy in question, which will facilitate access to the benefit.  

It is worth remembering that the initial parental benefit is a social benefit provided in cash for up to 120 or 150 consecutive days, at the choice of the parents.

After the initial 42-day period - corresponding to the exclusive parental allowance of the mother - the period of this allowance can be shared by the parents, without prejudice to the rules indicated.
