According to the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), if your child is sick, as a worker you have a set of rights to provide assistance.
A ACT publication on the Instagram social network states that absences for child care require the following rules:
- "Up to 30 days per year, or during the entire period of eventual hospitalization, to provide essential and urgent assistance, in case of illness or accident, to a child under 12 years or, regardless of age, to a child with a disability or chronic illness"
- "Up to 15 days per year to provide urgent and necessary assistance in the event of illness or accident to a child * aged 12 or older who, if older, is part of the household."
- "One extra day for each child beyond the first"
- "The employer may require proof of the urgent and essential nature of the assistance, and a declaration that the other spouse is employed and not absent for the same reason or is unable to provide the assistance."
- "The worker is entitled to a subsidy, which is equal to 100% of the beneficiary's reference remuneration."
