What social supports are you entitled to? New simulator from Social Security helps you find out.
Social Security has a digital tool that promises to facilitate access to information about available supports and subsidies.
Simulator allows you to know the social benefits you may have access to.
According to the Social Security Institute (ISS), on Notícias ao Minuto, this new platform was created to make the process of verifying rights more accessible, without the need for travel or complex bureaucracies.
"With intuitive operation, the simulator allows citizens to know, in a simple and fast way, which social benefits they may be entitled to, based on the data entered," explains ISS.
Despite being a simulation and not binding, the tool is an excellent starting point to understand the social protection available for each situation.
How does the simulator work?
Access is done online, through the official portal of Segurança Social. The filling out of information takes, on average, seven minutes. The simulator analyzes the entered data and presents the social support that applies, both to the user and their dependents.
However, it is important to note that the results only concern the person performing the simulation. In other words, if other members of the household want to know about the support available, they should do their own simulation.
What information will you need?
To ensure more accurate responses, the simulator requires the user to have on hand some personal and family data, such as:
- Professional and contributory situation.
- Composition of the household;
- Monthly income;
- Relevant expenses.
The simulator itself indicates at the beginning which data is necessary, guiding the user step by step.
Limitations to take into account.
The ISS alerts to the fact that the presented results depend entirely on the information provided by the user and are not formal guarantees of support allocation.
In addition, those who reside, work or have worked abroad may not have their situation fully reflected, as the simulator is adapted to the Portuguese reality.
