As a rule, the total value of the holiday allowance is paid in the month of June or in the salary of the previous month before the worker's vacation.
So, as the main vacation months approach, the Labor Authority (ACT) clarifies on its social media: "The vacation subsidy must be paid before the start of the vacation period and proportionally in case of staggered vacation."
Regarding the payment method, it can be paid in full or not: according to what was established with the company. "The employer and the worker can agree, in writing, on another form of payment of this subsidy, for example, in twelfths," as stated in the publication by ACT.
Regarding the amount to be received for holiday subsidy, it should correspond to what the worker would receive if they were in effective service.
In addition to this remuneration, the worker is entitled to holiday pay, including the basic remuneration and other remunerative benefits that are a counterpart to the specific mode of executing the work, corresponding to the minimum holiday pay and proportionally in the case of interspersed enjoyment of holidays," explains the entity.
